About John's Sea of Green
John’s Sea of Green – a Memorial 5k has been created to raise money for the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts (BIA-MA). BIA-MA is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support and resources for brain injury survivors and their families. They work to create prevention programs to educate the public on the impact of brain injuries; education and training for brain injury survivors, caregivers and professionals; and legislative advocacy for improved community services and safety laws (seat belts, helmets).
John’s Sea of Green – a Memorial 5k will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 8:30am. Walk or run, whatever you choose; it’s your support that matters.
Our inspiration for this event is John Deane – a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, colleague and friend – who was involved in a tragic accident in December 2016. John passed away from his extensive injuries 10 days following his accident, leaving many of us to wonder what we could do to help other families whose loved ones survived yet their lives changed forever.

Bib Pickup
Pre race packet pickup FRIDAY 9/29 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Boost Fitness
located at 205 Washington St, Hudson, MA. You may also collect your bib and swag between 7:00 AM and 8:15 AM on race day.
There will registration at Boost and Day of the Race if we do not sell out prior to closing online registration. We are limited to 300 slots so please register early!
Swag
Registrants will get a water bottle with the Sea of Green Logo. T-Shirts guaranteed to all registrants who sign up by 9/1/2017. We will do our absolute best to get everyone a really awesome shirt after this date, but remaining shirts will be first come first served.
Awards
Top male and female will receive a trophy.
Top three in each age group will receive medals. 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

I know that running [volunteering for] a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but no limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, and animals are not allowed in the race, and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and inconsideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release John's Sea of Green, and the city of Hudson, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand that this event does not provide for refunds in the event of a cancellation, and by signing this waiver, I consent that I am not entitled to a refund if the event is cancelled before or during the event.
